Okay, so with winter here and me looking for new ways to stretch out my resources, here is one solution in that regard.
I like to listen to the radio in the morning as well as in the evening.
Yet, I also want to stretch out my main battery resources. Mainly I want to see how long I can go between charging my main batteries.
Also, there is the time (soon to come) when I am in the depths of the dead of winter and the temperature stays below -20C.
It is at that point that I just give up on my main batteries and don’t bother to charge them.
It is at those points that this little guy will be especially helpful and welcome. For at the very least I can still listen to the radio.
This radio I got online for about $30.00 and it is just what I needed. It is small, runs on two AA batteries and can receive just about any broadcast band signal.
I do mean anything . . .
It turns out this thing is a “world band” radio, meaning it is handy for travelling, so that’s cool.
I was mainly looking for:
• Cheap
• Uses little power
• Not a piece of crap
• At least gets FM radio
• Did I mention cheap?
We shall see how things work out, as this guy didn’t like the cold and needed a bit of body heat to warm up before working this morning.
(Oh joy, yet another thing to keep under the covers with me at night so it doesn’t get too cold.)
Anyways, I just thought that I would pass along this little radio that I picked up.
As always: Keep your head up, your attitude positive, and keep moving forward!
