So, it’s the long weekend, not only that it’s the Canada Day Long Weekend and indeed Canada’s 150th birthday.
For me, I will be spending it in my Western Home, puttering around the place and not doing a whole lot.
Why? Because that is the most frugal thing to do. I had thought of going to some celebration, but I never do for two main reasons.
The first is the thought of trying to find parking for my truck and trailer (all 45 feet of it) anywhere near anything with crowds is frightening.
(Almost as frightening as trying to drive in the congested streets anywhere near such events.)
The next natural and logical suggestion is to just park my truck and trailer elsewhere and take transit.
This brings up the other reason why I don’t do that. I just don’t like leaving my truck and trailer for too long.
After all, everything I own is packed up in a nice and convenient carrying case. That thought sends chills down my spine.
That is the very nature of my lifestyle though, and it is a risk that I take. I also take solace in the fact that a fixed address is really no more secure, we just think it is.
I will be fine, I will get ahead, and I will go to large celebrations again . . . just not anytime soon.
As always: Keep your head up, your attitude positive and keep moving forward!
