Grand Savings Update (Inaugural Edition)

Okay, so this is the first time that I will be doing one of these.

In the interest of not only keeping me honest but also keeping me motivated (as well as showing progress) I will be posting my “Percentage of Target Saved” after each payday.

This is simply because once the paycheque goes into the bank, bills get paid, cash gets set aside for expenses, and savings get tucked away.

So, the question is, what is today’s Savings Target Number?

When last we met, the number was this . . .

That’s right 3.4% (for those of you who can’t read my handwriting, or see the picture).

The new number is one that will probably never happen again, the numbers flipped . . .

Yes, interestingly enough, the new number is 4.3%

Now, on one hand it is shockingly depressing to have so little of my target saved, but you have to remember that the plan is to steadily increase that number.

So, this number should steadily get bigger and bigger, thereby proving to me that my plan is working.

Again, such games are important when keeping you motivated over a long, slow steady incline up towards your goal.

(Seriously, winning the lotto is not a plan, but a dream and a faint hope.)

So, I shall work my plan, even though it is a four year plan. (My current estimates put me at Freedom Day being closer to Wanda Day, but we shall see how things turn out.)

As always: Keep your head up, your attitude positive, and keep moving forward!
